HEP Has a New Director!

I am pleased to let you know that a new Director of the Higher Education Program has been hired. She will be joining us later this summer.

Jan Arminio is Professor and Chair, Department of Counseling and College Student Personnel, at Shippensburg University. She is the former President of the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (2004-2007). Last year she received the Shaffer Award for Academic Excellence from NASPA. Her most recent book is "Why Aren't We There Yet?: Taking Personal Responsibility for Creating an Inclusive Campus." This fall she will be teaching CTCH 792, Research in Student Development.

It has been my pleasure to direct the program for the past 5 years. Together we have accomplished a lot, and the Program is in a great position to move forward. I look forward to continuing to work with many of you as I teach in NCC and HEP.

Have a great semester,

John O'Connor
