You may now view your registration time ticket by logging into Patriot Web.  Your time ticket indicates the first available time that you may begin to register for the semester.   



Important Waitlist Changes

1. You will be sent e-mails (to your Mason e-mail account) when waitlist overrides  

     are issued.


2. You will not be able to waitlist for a course if the following apply:
    a. You are already registered for another section of the same course.
    b. You are already on a waitlist for another section of the same course.

Specific information about changes to the waitlist policy and add and drop deadlines can be found at registrar.gmu.edu.


Important Graduation Information

2012 Commencement
Saturday, May 19, 2012

The annual University Commencement Ceremony is open to all Fall 2011, Spring 2012, and Summer 2012 (except doctoral students) graduation applicants.

**For detailed ceremony information regarding the University Commencement and Convocations, please go to the Office of Events Management.

One annual Commencement ceremony is held in May. With the exception of August Doctoral Candidates, all students who applied to graduate in the Fall, Spring or Summer semester are invited to participate in the ceremony. 

August 2012 Doctoral Candidates participate in the May 2013 Commencement ceremony.

Important Graduation Information

  • Doctoral Candidates who successfully submit the final copy of their dissertation to the University Library, and have all other degree requirements recorded by the Office of the University Registrar by the posted dissertation submission deadline, will be eligible to participate in the Commencement ceremony.
  • Master’s candidates, who have applied to graduate in the Summer 2012 term, and are completing courses, projects, theses, or exams in the Summer term, may also participate in the Spring Commencement Ceremony. Their official degree date, however, will be August 11, 2012.

Convocation for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (Masters and Doctorals) is on Thursday, May 8th at 7:00 p.m. in the Patriot Center.

Graduate Assistant position open (LEAD Office). The deadline is April 15th. Information is attached.

The Graduate Assistant position will consist of a $20,000.00 compensation package that includes payment of full-time tuition at the Virginia in-state rate for the 2012-2013 academic year; The remaining money will be distributed evenly via stipend on the 1st and 16th of the month for the remainder of the employment contract period;


The position is a 10-month position from August 25, 2012 to May 24, 2013
